TRAFFIC OFFENCES
MAGISTRATE'S COURT CASES
A charge of carrying a load not securely fastened was admitted by Leslie Robert Hewitt before Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. In imposing a penalty of £5 and costs (12s), the magistrate pointed out the dangers to traffic of such a practice. It was stated by the prosecution that a bale of worn packs had fallen from the defendant s truck on to the road. Parking Offences
For parking offences, Kenneth Clark, Marion Kate Crow, Marjorie Gwendoline Hudson, Joseph Keith Johnston, Lerwick Russell Johnston, Ronald Daniel Magon, Robert Beattie McElrea, Wanda Fay Newey, Ruby Frances Smith, Stanley Lawrence Walker. James Bruce Wallace, James Daniel Windsor, and Kenneth Young were each fined 20s and costs (10s). Harold Wellesley Austin, Wilfred Lindon Bennie, Robert Henry Burgess, John Dever, Howard William Hartley, Jean Rawinie Nelson, and Alan. Thomas Ritchie were each fined 10s with costs (10s). On a similar charge, Frederick George Duncan (Mr W. J. Meade) was ordered to pay costs (10s). Speed Limit Exceeded
For driving a car at a speed exceeding 30 • miles an hour, Norman Chapman Simpson was fined £3 with costs (10s.» and 10s with costs (10s) for having no warrant of fitness. Orr a charge of exceeding 30 ,miles an hour, John Phillip Donaldson was fined £3 with costs (10s) and Raymond Paris, on a similar charge, was fined 20s with costs (20s). Paris was also fined 20s with costs (10s) on charges of having no driver’s licence and no warrant of fitness. Other Cases James Wilfred Warburton and Harold Maude Roxey were each fined £3 with costs (10s) for driving without due care and attention. Roxey was fined 30s with costs (10s) for having no warrant of fitness. Cecil Raymond Dunn was fined 20s with costs (10s) for driving without due care and attention. Kenneth Robertson admitted a charge of driving an unlicensed motor vehicle, a fine of 10s with costs (10s) being imposed. Ronald Johnston was fined 10s with costs (10s) for riding a motor cycle with more than two persons. Arthur Robert Dixon was fined 20s with costs (10s) for having no driver’s licence and a similar amount for parking in front of a theatre.
