Cool, For A Change
While Mr R. B. Tennent, the Assistant Director-general of Agriculture, was enthusiastic about the Invermay property, he was not so pleased With the weather on the Taieri yesterday afternoon. As the keen south wind brought driving rain and hail as Mr Tennent yvas speaking with the Daily Times in one of the open paddpeks, Mr Tennent remarked that he could probably have chosen a better day for his visit. The reporter assured him that the weather had been much worse last Saturday. Mr Tennent smiled wistfully. He had, he said, just returned from overseas, where there had'been a very hot summer. In the United States the summer had been the hottest for very many years, and at the time he had hoped for some cooler weather when he returned to New Zealand. On the Taieri yesterday, however, the weather was perhaps just a little too cool.
