WORLD YOUTH FORUM

DOMINION TO BE REPRESENTED BY A GIRL PA WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. Next year a school girl will represent New Zealand at the World 1 uth Forum in England and to seleci her. the United Nations Association of New Zealand will conduct an essay competition within the next two months. This will be the second World Forum of Youth, the first having been held last May, and attended by two young New Zealand 'representatives, Bridn Woods and Susan Maclean. A girl only is to represent New Zealand next time.

The subject of the essay is to be “My Country and World Peace,” including the candidate’s opinion on the contribution she thinks her country can make to world peace. A confidential report from her headmistress will be required, and candidates may be interviewed by judges before the final selection. The chosen girl must-have reached her sixteenth birthday by January 1, 1950, but not her nineteenth, and she must be in good health.
