OYSTER STOUT

POPULARITY GROWING IN BRITAIN Resident Correspondent LONDON, ’Aug, 16. A new .drink fast gaining in popularity is oyster stout. This is made by mixing one gallon of New Zealand oyster concentrate to 180 gallons of stout, and it is sold in London at Is 6d a bottle, one penny more than ordinary stout. The restaurant proprietor who served me with a glass of this nourishing drink said that it was proving so popular that- negotiations are now in hand to supply it on the liner Queen Elizabeth. It is already served by the Canadian Pacific Railways. Two big Sheffield breweries are backing this new beverage, which should prove a boon to the Bluff oyster industry.
