SQUASH RACKETS TEAM FROM AUSTRALIA PA PALMERSTON Nth., Aug. 22. Mr M. J. Rodgers presided over a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Squash Rackets Association held in Palmerston North at the week-end, at which a letter was received from the Squash Rackets’ Association of Australia acknowledging an invitation to send a team to New Zealand. The letter stated that the suggestion had been received enthusiastically by the Australian Association and that consideration would be given to the proposal when next year’s programme was being considered. A cablegram from the Australian authorities was also received extending an invitation to the New Zealand representatives to take part in the Australian championships at Melbourne next month. It was decided to refer this to the New Zealand players when they assemble for the dominion chanrmionships at Palmerston North on Friday. It was decided to hold the annual meeting of the association on Saturday in Palmerston North.
