DEATH OF MR HENRYS
FORMER RACING HANDICAPPER PA AUCKLAND, Aug. 16. Mr Joseph Edward Henrys, formerly a prominent racing handicapper, has died in Remuera, aged 84. When he retired in 1937 after 50 years’ service to the sport, Mr Henrys had a record of having acted as handicapper for 87 clubs in the country—4B in the North Island and 39 in the South Island. He was a life member of 20 clubs throughout the country. Born in Dunedin, Mr Henrys was educated at Turakina and represented Manawatu at Rugby in 1887. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.
