THE COMING ELECTION

Sir, —The Government must be losing votes every day because of butter rationing. Just as it was proved that there was not one pound of meat saved through rationing, I am willing to give a donation to the Labour Party if it can be .proved that one pound of butter has been saved. The five-c'ay week should be abolished iust as quickly and quietly as it was brought in. The downfall of ancient Rome was too many holy days, or holidays as we call them. You will notice that countries that have an excess of holy days have always been backward, so New Zealand, instead of being the frontranking country in the world to-day, will soon be backward. Surely we have had our time of loafing.—l am. etc., Mode.
