GOVERNMENT LIFTS BAN
INDIA’S PRO-HINDU COMMUNAL ORGANISATION AP—NZPA — Copyright NEW DELHI, July 12. The Indian Government to-day lifted the ban on the militant pro-Hindu communal organisation RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh), which was outlawed after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi 18 months ago. The Government announcement said the organisation had agreed to become a “ democratic and cultural organisation ” swearing allegiance to the Indian Constitution and flag.
