DULL BUT IMPROVING The official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:— Situation.—A depression lies east of the North Island and a ridge of high pressure is over the South Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Light or moderate southerly winds, weather dull and cold with periods of drizzle and .rain but improving slowly. Outlook.—Fair to cloudy. Weather in Dunedin.—A light drizzle again enveloped Dunedin during the greater part of yesterday and altogether 0.45 in of rain fell. Temperatures were fairly steady between a maximum of 46.2 degrees and a minimum of $5 degrees. No sunshine was recorded and the wind was from the south-west. The barometer at midnight read 29.9 in. , Summary for May A summary of the weather records taken in Dunedin for the month of May is:— Rainfall.—Total fall, 1.8 inches; number of days with rain, 11; greatest fall in one day, 0.69 in (May 29). Sunshine. —Total sunshine/ 125 hours; number of days with sunshine, 22; greatest period of daily sunshine, 8 hours 54 minutes (May 5).
