OVERSEAS TOUR MOOTED f INTER-ISLAND MATCH » A suggestion - has been made that a iNew Zealand Railways' Rugby team .Should undertake an overseas tour, and ‘Hnore than ordinary interest, therefore, ‘will attach to the ,annual North-South ’lsland Railways’ match, which is to be 'played at Christchurch this season. Reporting along these lines to the Management Committee of the Otago Rugby Football Union last night, Mr R W. S. Botting, South Island vice-president of the New Zealand Union, said that North Island unions were strong in their suprrt of railway Rugby, as they found that attracted many players to the game Who might otherwise be induced to play In rival codes. Mr Botting added that the New Zealand Union would give Canterbury every encouragement to arrange the inter-island railways game on a suitable date.
