GERHARD EISLER CLAIMS AGAINST HOME SECRETARY

Rec, 9 p.pi. LONDON, May 30. The American Communist leader, Gerhard Eisler, is claiming compensation from the Home Secretary, Mr Chuter Ede, says the Daily Telegraph. Eisler was released from custody by a Bow Street magistrate on Friday after the hearing of an application by the United States for his extf-adition. He was taken off a Polish ship in Cowes Roads on May 14. Eisler’s legal adviser, Mr Stanley Moore, said: “ The claim will be based on the grounds that he was forcibly removed from a foreign ship on the charge of an extraditable crime that proved to be groundless.”
