LONDON WOOL SALES
The Bank of New Zealand has received, the following cablegram, dated May 27,. from its London office in connection with the London wool sales. The cablegram The sales have closed on a. very firm note, with widespread and sustained competition. Compared with a week ago, most types moved against the buyers. New Zealand greasy crossbreds are selling strongly, but sllpes a little irregular, and scoured slightly cheaper. The following range of sale room prices for New Zealand greasy wool is quoted (prices are given in sterling without deductions of any sort for freight, expenses, etc.) ! —■ , Merinos: 60‘/64’s, average, 52d to 56d. Fine halfbred, 58’s/56-58’s, average 40d to 43d. Halfbred: 50/56’s-56’s, good 35d to 38d, average 32d to 35d. Fine crossbred: 50’s-48’s/50’s: Super 26£d to 27£d, good 25d to 26d, average 24d to 25d. Medium crossbred: 46’s-46/48’s, super 25d to 26d; 48’s, good 23£d to 24*d, average 22id to 23d. Crossbred lambs: Good 29d to 31d; average, 22d to 24d. First crossbred pieces: Good, 20Jd to 22Jd; average,' 19d to 20d. Crossbred bellies: Good, 16d to 18Jd.
