MOUNTING COST ARRESTED PA AUCKLAND, May 16. For the first time since 1934 the mounting cost of hospital services in Auckland has been arrested. The 1949-50 estimates of the Auckland Hospital Board provide for a total ex penditure of £1.705.554, in comparison With £1,748.429 last year, and it is considered that further improvement is possible if the present trend in “cost consciousness ” is maintained.
