OFFICIAL REPORTS
TOTAL CLEARANCE RECOVERY OF VALUES The official report of the Dunedin Woolbrokers’ Association, issued last night in conjunction with the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association and the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission, states that, contrary to-expec-tations following the recent trend in northern centres, prices in Dunedin for the final sale of the 1948-49 season made a general recovery, except for inferior lines, • and a spectacular recovery for halfbred wools. The most noticeable feature was the strong competition and increased values for both good style fine and crossbred wools. Lambs’ wool and .crutchings were erratic, but skirtings sold at enhanced values. Competition was well spread, with Bradford being particularly keen for all grades. Local mills were fully extended to obtain their requirements. The Continent dominated the market for necks and pieces. There was a complete clearance of all greasy and stockpile wools. Prompt date has , been extended to Wednesday, June 15. •> _
