UNIVERSITY WEDDING
MUIR—SEYMOUR The wedding of Miss Valerie A. Seymour, only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. T. Seymour, Dunedin, to Mr Hugh Muir, elder son of Mr and Mrs A. Muir, of Melbourne, was solemnised at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday. Dean Button performed the ceremony. The bride wo-re a gown of white embroidered georgette, with fitting bodice, draped peplum and long full skirt. She carried a bouquet of white roses and chrysanthemums and wore a coronet of matching flowers over her full-length, embroidered net veil. Tile matron of honour, Mrs Pat- Gill, and the bridesmaid, Miss Margaret Richardson, wore fitting gowns of meadow green velvet with hats of the same material. They carried bouquets of white orchids end chrysanthemums. The best man was Mr Pat Gill and the groomsman Mr John Perry. About 120 guests were entertained at the reception, held in the University Club, where Mr and Mrs Seymour and Mr and Mrs Muir received the guests. Mrs Seymour wore an ensemble of mid-blue wool georgette with hat of the same shade and flower spray of pink roses and cyclamen Mrs Muir chose a black boucle coat and small black hat and wore a spray of yellow roses and arbutus. Both bride and groom are well known in Dunedin; the bride as lecturer in economics at the University of Otago, and the groom as lecturer in metallurgy at the School of Mines. For travelling, the bride wore a wool boucle suit in a wine colour, with hat, gloves and bag in a soft pink shade. Mr and Mrs Muir will reside in Dunedin.
