LONDON-PARIS AIR RECORD NZPA—Reuter—Copyright LONDON, May 13. A Hawker experimental jet fighter only recently off the secret list set a new London-Paris air record to-day by covering 221 miles from London airport to Villa Coublay in 21min 28 3-10 see—an average speed of 618 miles an hour, according to figures of the Royal Aero Club. The plane was flown by T. S. Wade. Neville Duke, a 27-year-old test pilot, flew a Hawker Fury fighter from London to Rome to-day in 2hr 32min, and broke a record for the flight by 19 minutes. He covered the 910 miles at an average speed of 359 miles an hour.
