Family Record
Seven brothers, ail more than 70, who met in Wellington last Friday on the occasion of the seventieth birthday of one of them, issued a challenge to any New Zealand family to beat their record. Th,ey are the sons of the late Rev. Joseph Martin, a Methodist minister, who was stationed in Christchurch in the eighties. Their last reunion was 41 years ago. They are Mr S. T. Martin, J.P., 83, of Wellington, the first white child born at Skippers. Point, Otago; Mr W. Lee Martin, M.L.C., born at Uamaru, 79, of Hamilton, a former Minister of Agriculture; Messrs E. A. Martin, 78, of Addington; S. F. Martin, 74, c Auckland; E. H. Martin, 73, of Auckland; W. Martin, 71, of Auckland; and the Rev. J. F. Martin, 70. a retired Methodist minister, of Wanganui. The last four were born at Waimate. The father died when he was 79, and the mother died at the age of 95.
