LONDON WOOL SALE
The Bank of. New South Wales lias received a cablegram from its London office stating:— *' Moderate selection only offered at the opening sales to-day. Steady demand for crossbreds, mainly from home trade, otherwise market a little irregular. Compared with the April 8 sale, merinos were 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, cheaper; halfbreds and fine crossbreds, 5 per cent, to 7>. per cent, cheaper; medium and coarse crossbreds, firm; scoured crossbreds, par to 5 per cent, cheaper; sllpes, generally 10 per cent, cheaper. "Average or estimated prices, New Zealand greasy fleece ordinary top-making wools were:—Merino, 60/64’s, 56d to fiOd; fine halfbred, 56/58's, 40d to 45d; halfbred, 50/56's, 33d to 36d; three-quarter-bred. 48/50’s, 25d to 27d; fine crossbred, 46/48's, 24d to 25Jd; medium crossbred, 44/4G'.s, 24d to 25Jd; crossbred. 40/44’s, 24d to 25Jd.”
