CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN. ,! —(I John i: 7.) It will be noted from the above passage of Scripture that it is only “IF,”.“if we walk in the light ” that “ the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin.” It Is clear from a study of the Scriptures that those only are regarded by the Almighty as “ walking in the light" who believe His promises and obey His' commands (Heb. II: 6, Rev. 22: 14), God’s promises and His commands are recorded in the Holy Scriptures and therefore the Apostle Paul taught that “ the Holy Scriptures are able to make wise unto salvation ” (II Tim, 3: 15). No person, however, can be made “ wise unto salvation ” by the Scriptures who does not read and study the Scriptures. By nature all are “ alienated from the life of God through the ignorance tba* is In them,” and that condition of darkness and ignorance can only be altered by the Word of God (I Cor. 2: 14, Eph. 4: 18,1 Peter 1: 23). As a result of reading, and studying the Word a person experiences a “ change Of mind.” In other words is converted from darkness to light (II Tim. 3: 15, Acts 20: 32, John 5: 30, I Peter 2: 2. Isa. 28: 9, Psa. 119: -130, Isa. 8: 20, Isa. 66: 2, Acts 26: 18, Eph. 5: 8, Thess. 5: 5). He learns what G'd ■wishes him to believe—i.e., “the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name of Jesus Christ" (Acts 8: 12, Acts 28 : 30-31, Rom. 1: 15-16, I Cor. 15: 1-2), and what God wills that he should do—i.e. he baptised and thereafter walk in newness of*life (Mark 16: 16, Acts 2: 33, Gals. 3: 27-29, Rom. 6: 3-6), Having become enlightened by the Word and having conformed to the will of God, a person is then “ walking In the light,” and it is THEN, and then only, that “ the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin.” Reader, God’s way of salvation, as revealed In the Holy Scriptures, is entirely different from that taught in the churches of Christendom. For enlightenment concerning true Bible teaching read the book “CHRISTENDOM ASTRAY.” A copy will be sent free on application. FREE “BIBLE TRUTH” LITERATURE Address: P.O. Box 857, Dunedin.
