PRINCESS ENJOYING HER TOUR OF ITALY

The allegations that Princess Margaret’s holiday in Italy has been spoiled by ' crowds' of curious sightseers and unwelcome attention of the press are described by a New Zealand journalist, lan Coster, writing in the Daily Mail, as “incredible nonsense.”. Mr Coster has just returned to London after reporting upon the first section of the Princess’s holiday. He said the Princess is enjoying her tour, and that the worst that can be said about the behaviour of the Italians is that some of their photographers exploded flash bulbs almost under the Princess’s nose. The crowds, however, were unfailingly courteous, and contented themselves with sedate handclapping. The press in general reiT mamed unobtrusively in the background. The Princess herself had established the best of relations with the press, and so had those accompanying heri “After all, it is the Princess’s holiday, and, if she through her representatives indicated she had no objection to photographs or details of her daily tours, then the dubious moral indignation from some sections of Fleet Street is unnecessary, and even absurd.” says Mr Coster.
