VICTORY GOLF TOURNAMENT GOOD ROUND BY WOON PA AUCKLAND, May 11. A. E. Guy, of Akarana, led the professional division and D. L. Woon, of Waitikiri (Christchurch) the amateur division after the first 36 holes of the 72-hole Medal Championship of £ 700 in the Victory Golf Tournament at Titirangi course- to-day. Ine cnam pionship will be completed to-morrow and the match play events in both divisions will be staged on Friday and Saturday... Conditions were unsuitable for good golf, a strong, cold wind blowing showers from the- south. Guy haa rounds of 77 and 75 for a total of 152, and Woon rounds of 73 and 76 for a total of 149. Woon’s morning round was easily the outstanding' performance of the day. R. H. Glading, of Christchurch, and A. J. Shaw, of Dunedin, were next to Guy in the professional division with totals of 153. The Australian competitors, R. Want, of Brisbane, and V. O. Walker, of Brisbane, had totals of 157 and 160 respectively in the professional event. Woon was followed by R. Hay-Mac-kenzie.
