Busy Day on Waterfront

SHIPPING

The waterfront will present a busy scene when the watersiders resume work this morning after the Easter holiday break. Five ships are waiting to be worked, and another three are scheduled to arrive to-day. The passenger and cargo liner Malaroa is due at Port Chalmers at 9 o’clock tins' morning to disembark 43 passengers and also unload 1800 tons of general cargo. ’ She is expected to sail for Lyttelton on Saturday to complete her discharge. The Union Company's Karetu, which berthed at Victoria wharf before Easter, should finish her discharge of 1400 tons of general Australian cargo and sail for Bluff, and thence Sydney, today.
