The abnormally high prices received for our exportable primary products, which are accountable for the large volume of money in circulation, as well as for the buoyant State revenues, cannot last Indefinitely. The present inflatory conditions are due chiefly to two causes—first, the world’s food shortage; second, the fear of war and preparedness against it by England, the United States and Eastern Europe.
