SHOW GIRLS

Sir,—As a mother of a small child who is a tap dancer, I must reply to this old lady who signs herself “ Very Ashamed.” If she will not let her children go to see dancing—show girls or books or films —the poor things, I wonder if they ever do anything behind her back. If they do not I think they may as well be dead. I will bet they have no new look, but a very old look, so that no old ladies will see their legs at all. Your correspondent must have pretty good eyesight to be able to see the garter marks on these children’s legs. I think she is back in the last century, as very few children of to-day wear garters. She must go to see dancers herself, otherwise she would not know anything about these things. Lovely children, I think they are, and not a scrap of evil in their little minds, only what these " very ashamed ” old ladies are trying to put tnere—l am, etc., On With the Show Girls.
