BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
The application of the Oamaru Club to change its name to Waitaki Old Girls’ Club, and its colours to red and black, was agreed to at the annual meeting of the North Otago Women’s Basketball and Referees' Association on Tuesday night. CYM was granted permission to change its colours to blue and gold, and the Polytechnic Club to change its name to United.
Officers elected were:—Patroness, Mrs M. F. E. Cooney; president, Miss J. B Wilson; vice-presidents, re-elected; secretary, Miss V. Murray; coach, Mrs Beatson; selectors —A Grade, Mrs Hill, Mrs Beatson, B Grade, Mrs Brown; delegates to North Otago Sports Bodies’ Association, Mrs Hill and Miss V. Murray. It was decided to divide the B Grade competition into two sections and to present a cup for each.
Tlie following committee were elected to arrange for an opening match on April 23:—Miss V. Murray, Mesdames Hill and Beatson and Father McCarthy. Kakanui Club
Mrs Rutbatch was in the chair at the annual meeting of the Kakanui Basketball Club, at which the following officers were elected:—President, Miss V. Marwick; vice-president. I«iss F. Tyson; secretary. Miss E. Dalgety: delegates to the association, Misses J. Todd and D. Marwick; committee —Misses M. Bugden. A Southgate, V. Marwick, F. Tyson, E. Dalgetv. It was decided to enter one team in the North Otago competition.
