MORE PROMINENCE
CHORAL ITEMS IN CONCERTS ROYAL DUNEDIN MALE CHOIR A recommendation that more prominence be given to choir items in the concerts of the Royal Dunedin Male Choir was adopted at the annual meeting of the choir. A motion recommending that the second concert to be given this season, be given entirely by the members of the choir was lO Mr C. H. Wallis, who proposed the latter motion, said that variety could be obtained even if there were no instrumental items on the concert programme. The president, Mr A. Ibbotson asked members to consider whether this were possible On the motion of Mr N. Ellis, a recommendation that the committee coopt a junior member of the choir was adopted. The junior member was to have been in the choir for less than five years and was to represent junior members on the committee. It was decided unanimously that tne Monday night following each concert be set aside for a social function. A presentation in recognition of his services was made to Mr J. Pearce, the treasurer of the choir. Mr A. Ibbotson was re-elected president. Mr F. Parker was added to the role of vice-presidents, and Mr C. H. Wallis was elected a deputy conductor. Messrs E. Drake and W. Ellis were made life members of the choir. Elected to the committee were Messrs W. Lane, M. Poulter, C. H. Wallis, E. Paris and E. Richardson. Mr J. D. .Hanning was appointed secretary. All other office-bearers were re-elected.
