ITALIAN DOCTORS

LIMITED NUMBER TO PRACTISE IN TASMANIA Rec. 9 p.m. HOBART, Mar, 27. The Tasmanian Government will not legislate to allow alien doctors to practise in the State, according to a Government spokesman, who added that neither the Minister of Health nor the Premier Mr Cosgrove, had discussed with the Federal Government the introduction of such legislation. The only discussions had concerned an inquiry bv Mr Chifley as to whether Tasmania would agree to the British Government request that Australia should grant reciprocity to Italian doctors as Britain was doing. The Tasmanian Government replied that it would allow only a limited number of Italian doctors to practise in the State.
