“FALSE PHILOSOPHY”
Sir, —Among the opponents of Communism not one has even attempted to explain wherein lie the errors of its philosophy They have been satisfied to make virulent and unsubstantiated charges against Communists and to impute imaginary, malicious designs to the Soviet Union. Although “ Matilda ” maintains that the next war, if it should ever happen, will be a war for men’s minds and souls, the preparations for that war possess potentialities of unprecedented violence. And yet, on the eve of his departure for Washington to sign the North Atlantic Pact, Mr Bevin, an avowed enemy of Communism, said it would show that the world must be governed by reason and not by force.
