ELECTRICAL GOODS

RESTRICTIONS ON SALE PA NAPIER, Mar. 25. The sale of electrical appliances and accessories to persons not technically qualified to install them had caused repeated representations to the authorities, but so far without effect, said the president, Mr H. L. Keys, of Wellington, when addressing the annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Electricians to-day. Mr Keys said the matter had now been presented to the authorities in a different way as an amendment to the electrical wiring regulations, and he ’hoped the amendment would be approved, as it would enable this undesirable practice to be curbed. The institute had often passed comment on these regulations, with which electricians were vitally concerned, the president added. The regulations were now due for revision, and he hoped the institute would have an opportunity of expressing its views on them before they were finally approved.
