Best Screen Performances
Sir Laurence Olivier and Jane Wyman, who have been awarded the Film Academy’s “ Oscars ” for 1948. Sir Laurence won his award for the best performance by an actor for his acting in “ Hamlet.” Miss Wyman took the award for the best performance for an actress in “ Johnny Belinda.” The best picture award was won by “ Ilamlet,” and the best supporting actor’s award was Avon by Walter Huston for his role in “ Treasure of Sierra Madre.” Claire Trevor won the “ Oscar ” for the best supporting actress for her role in “ Key Largo.—Hollywood, • March 24.
