THANKS FROM LANCS.

Sir,—Would you be so kind as to find a corner in your excellent paper for a public “ thank you ” in appreciation of some of your readers? Mr and Mrs Arthur Carr, of Milburn, Otago, during the war years and since have been kindness itself to me and mine. Parcels arrive every few months, and are so very welcome here in these days of shortages. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and I believe friends too have helped by contributing articles for the parcels. "A friend in need is a friend indeed ” is very true in this case. Mrs Carr and myself have been penfriends since we were 10 years old. We are now mothers both of us, and our children have started to correspond!—l am, etc., (Mrs) A. Heaton. Thatch Leach. Chadderton, Lancs.
