LOW-SCORING MATCH

BRABIN SHIELD CRICKET PA WELLINGTON, Mar. 9. Though conditions were good with fine weather and a fast wicket and outfield, the first day’s play to-day at Kilbirnie between the North and South Island teams chosen from Brabin Shield cricketers saw low scoring, with the South holding a first innings lead of 22 runs. The game is very open, however, as the South lost a valuable wicket cheaply in its second innings just before stumps. Scores: — ' ' / - South Island First Innings
