Mr R. B. F. Eastgate left by the express on Tuesday morning on transfer to the Nelson branch of Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. Mr and Mrs G. B. Beath and family returned to Dunedin yesterday after an absence of 18 months in England. At a meeting of the board of directors of the Otago Farmers’ Union Mutual Fire Insurance Association and the board of the Farm Accounting Association of New Zealand, Mr Finlayson Weir, Ranfurly, was elected to fill the vacancies on both boards caused by the death of Mr W. Lee.
Mr Lionel Leary, the touring manager for the concert pianist, Isador Goodman, is at present in Dunedin arranging for the concerts to be given here on March 29 and 31 by Mr Goodman.
The Mayor, Sir Donald Cameron, has accepted an invitation to attend on Saturday morning the primary schools section of the Caledonian sports in Dunedin before proceeding to Waikouaiti, where he will be the principal snpaker at the Early Settlers’ picnic there.
Support for the renomination of Sir Howard Kippenberber as president of the New Zealand RSA for the next year was decided upon at last evening’s meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dunedin RSA.
