Riccarton Horses For Trentham

Special to the Dally Times CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 28. C. G. Humphries has returned home from his trip to Wingatui, but he left Magnaform and Military Chief behind for the second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club's meeting. Humphries will go north to-night, with Royal Tan and Corofin, who are to race at Trentham on the next two Saturdays. The Southland sprinter, Full Play, who has been at Riccarton for a few weeks, will go north to-night to fulfil engagements at Trentham. F. A. Roberts will leave to-morrow for Trentham with Citril and Dissenter, while R. B. Robinson with Newspaper and W. Barr with Langhatn have arranged to go at the same time. F. D. Jones will travel north on Wednesday night with Magical, while the South Canterbury candidate, Open Sky. is booked to go on Thursday. C. C. McCarthy made arrangements to leave for Trentham to-night with Helio and Julius Caesar. The two horses have shown signs of soreness, however, due to the hard tracks, so the trip has been cancelled. They will be kept going in useful tasks in preparation for autumn racing.

The Wingatui horses, The Grate, The Hob, Frances, Super, Red Pickle, St. Bruno, and Night Fighter, also the Southland mare Excellency, are booked to leave here to-morrow night on their way to Trentham.
