WIN FOR DUNEDIN
MATCH WITH UNIVERSITY Dunedin beat University by 98 runs on the first innings. University, in its second innings, began poorly, but a good score by Geary improved the team's chances. His 64 included four 4's, and although not a chanceless one, the knock materially assisted the side. The brightest part of the game was the ninth-wicket partnership by V. A. C. McArley and R. G. Pilling.’ who were undefeated after adding 54 runs in 25 minutes. Pilling’s score of 38 not out included five 4’s and a 6, gained bv lusty hitting to the leg side. The most successful bowler for Dunedin was Kruskopf, who took four wickets for 96 runs, but all the bowlers' figures suffered as a result of dropped catches. Dunedin was left with 149 runs to get in about 70 minutes but at no stage of the innings did the batsmen look like getting the runs. Morrison, the University bowler, was unfortunate in missing the hat trick when, after he had taken two wickets with successive balls, a catch was dropped in the outfield off his bowling.
