CHILE ATTACKS WFTU

“ BLIND TOOL IN HANDS OF MOSCOW ”

Rec. 8 p.m. NEW YORK, Feb. 26. Chile in the United Nations Economic and Social Council made'a vigorous attack on the World Federation of Trade Unions, calling it a "blind tool in the hands of Moscow.” The Chilean delegate, Senor Herman Santa Craz, said the secretariat of the WFTU was “ composed of agents under Moscow discipline.” Its only aim was to misrepresent labour conditions in non - Soviet countries. Senor Santa Craz said: “The Communists are not interested in the WFTU itself. They have no faith in the aims and purposes of trade unions. They want to break them up. The presence of Stalinist countries inside the trade unions is the greatest help to reactionary forces by their odious anti-national policy and submission to Ihe Soivet. They have contaminated the trade unions.”
