TWO OUTBREAKS IN CITY AMPLE WATER AVAILABLE Notwithstanding the water shortage, ample supplies were available for firefighting purposes when the Central Fire Brigade attended two outbreaks in the city area yesterday morning. Two engines from the central station were despatched at 4.47 a.m. to the first outbreak, which was. in a sixroomed wooden house, situated m Manchester street, Kaikorai Valley. The fire was confined to the back part of the house, which was badly damaged, while the washhouse was gutted. There was almost a similar outbreak in Kilgour street, Roslyn, at 7.39 a.m. This was also a six-roomed wooden dwelling, the kitchen and washhouse being badly damaged. Some damage was also done to an adjoining house.
