DESIGNS are invited by the Post Office for a special set of FOUR POSTAGE STAMPS (Id, 2d, 3d, and 6d) to commemorate the CENTENNIAL of the CANTERBURY PROVINCIAL DISTRICT to be held in 1950. The dimensions of the stamps will probably be 25 mm. x 21 mm. and 37 mm. x2l mm. Designs may be either horizontal or vertical. Sketches submitted should be enlarged six diameters and should be in finished form ready for engraving. The drawings may be in pencil or black ink. Where two colours are suggested these should be indicated. An AWARD of up to £SO will be paid for each accepted design.
