PHYSICIANS TO EXPLAIN REASONS GENEVA. Feb. 1. An expert committee of the World Health Organisation has recommended that physicians in New Zealand. Australia, Finland, Italy, and Sweden be asked to explain their reasons for prescribing the use of the drug heroin. The committee recommended that a direct investigation be made in countries using excessive quantities of this habit-forming drug. A recent report of the United Nations Permanent Central Opium Board expressed alarm at the increased use of heroin ,in certain countries, including the five named.
