FOUR OVERSEAS SHIPS DUE
Although the only movement on the waterfront yesterday was the arrival of the two coastal vessels Holmdale and Breeze, and the sailing of the Kaimanawa for Lyttelton, at least four ships ate due from overseas ports within the next week. The Suffolk is expected on Saturday with a general cargo from the United Kingdom and the Waitemata, from Vancouver, is due the next day with a general cargo including timber. The Kauri from Adelaide and the Waitaki from Melbourne are due on Monday and Tuesday respectively. After discharging here and at Bluff the Suffolk will load at both ports and is expected to sail from Dunedin for London on March 5. The Acadia with a cargo of paper, wall-board and canned goods from Scandinavian ports is due on February 20. The Karitane entered dock at Port Chalmers yesterday for cleaning and painting. She is due to sail for Bluff to-day. The Kaikoura is also expected to leave for the south to-day.
