APPOINTMENT IN HOUSE OF LORDS
LONDON, Jan. 16. Lieutenant-general Sir Brian Horrocks will succeed Vice-admiral Sir Geoffrey Blake as Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod in the House of Lords when Parliament reassembles on Tuesday. Admiral Blake received the King’s permission to resign the office last month.
