CLOUDY AND COOL The official weather forecast, issued by the Government meteorologist in Wellington. is:— Situation.—A ridge of high pressure is moving to the east of New Zealand and an anti-cyclone is advancing across the South Tasman. A depression in the Central Tasman is moving east. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Moderate south to south-east winds, freshening near the coast during the day: weather overcast with occasional light rain at first, but improving especially inland; temperatures cool. Further Outlook.—Fair to cloudy and cool. ‘ Weather in Dunedin.—Otherwise pleasant conditions in Dunedin yesterday were marred by a strong wind blowing from the north-east. It decreased in force as the day wore on. Twelve hours 24min of sunshine were recorded and the ■maximum temperature was 63deg. The minimum was 55.5 deg After remaining fairly steady during the day, the barometer at midnight read 29.!)0in.
