Associated Press LONDON. John Venables, of Coventry, walked Jnto a “pub” there and ordered a beer. He then took a mouse out of his pocket and put it on the counter instead of money. The mouse jumped on to the floor, • stampede occurred, and the landfiord stepped on the mouse and killed it. Venables left the "pub,” but returned later and threw two stones through a window. , When he appeared in court he pleaded guilty to a window-breaking charge, but added in an aggrieved voice: " I had had that mouse for two years.”
