Fine Example Of Community Effort
A fine example of community effort was seen at Trotter’s Gorge Domain last Saturday when residents of the district, together with members of the Domain Board and the Waitaki County Council staff completely dismantled a footbridge over the creek and reerected it on the same day. The bridge, with a 32-foot wooden span, was in a delapidated condition, and it was replaced by one with steel girders, each weighing half-a-ton. Work was commenced at 10 a.m- and the bridge was ready for use at 4.30 p.m.
