KARETU TO RE-COMMISSION
The Karetu, which has been at Port Chalmers for survey, will re-commis-sion on January 21 and sail for Sydney via Lyttelton and Bluff. The Waipahi sailed yesterday, but owing to a “ slight hitch ” in the freighting arrangements there was no work on the Wye Valley, which arrived on Thursday to load wool for Russia. It was expected that the matter would be put right within 24 hours. The Springbank is not expected to complete before January 22. There is a fairly big list of ships due to arrive within the next few days, however, and the waterfront should be comparatively busy next week. The Argos Hill is due tomorrow to load wool for the United Kingdom, and the Nemiskam Park, with wheat from Brisbane, is due on Wednesday.
