RESCUED BY PASSENGER

PILOT’S FORTUNATE ESCAPE Rec. 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 29. The passenger pulled the unconscious pilot from their wrecked plane a few moments before it burst into flames m a paddock at Lockhart, 40, miles west of Wagga. The plane, which was a Wackett trainer owned by the Australian National Airways Flying Club, washed from 150 feet when the engine stopped during the take-off. The passenger suffered bruises and a cut knee bat was able to drag the pilot from'the cockpit before the plane was completely destroyed by flames. The pilot is now in Wagga Hospital m a serious condition.
