CITY POLICE COURT

THEFT. CHARGE Dorothy Jeanette Hogg, a domestic servant, aged 19,- appeared before Messrs G. J. Errington and H. Barth, justices of the peace, in the City Police Court yesterday, charged with the theft of a purse and its contents, valued at £l3 2 S 6d. Chief Detective Hall, who prosecuted, stated that Hogg went into a private hospital to see a friend, and stole the purse, which belonged to one of the sisters, from the staff room. She had since spent the money with the exception of £2 6s 6d. Hogg was convicted and placed on probation for two years and ordered to make restitution of £lO 6s, the money not recovered.
