FAIR TO FINE, The official weather forecast, issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington, is:— Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Light to moderate variable winds, northerly direction predominating; some areas of coastal cloud at first, but weather otherwise fair to fine; temperatures mild. Weather in Dunedin.—Conditions were pleasant in Dunedin yesterday, the total sunshine recorded being 9 hours 18 minutes. The maximum temperature was 62.2 degrees and the minimum 55.3 degrees. No rain was recorded up to 9.30 in the morning, and a light north-easterly breeze prevailed. The barometer reading at midnight was 30.25 inches.
