FREIGHTER IMMOBILISED
SURROUNDED BY EXPLOSIVES MISHAP IN SYDNEY HARBOUR Rec. 9 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 1. Until the depth of water over the sunken lighter filled with explosives and lying on the bottom of Sydney Harbour is checked, the Moroccan fr eighter, Lieutenant Jean. Lemeur, will not be allowed to move from her anchorage. The lighter, which sank in a squall yesterday alongside the freighter, carried 2500 boxes of T.N.T of which only 75 have been recovered. The rest are believed to be scattered over a wide area of the harbour. Experts believe- that the explosives are not dangerous, but the authorities will not risk the chance of a collision between the vessel and the lighter.
