SYDNEY “SEA LION”
ZOO OFFERS REWARD STUDENTS’ BLUFF CALLED Rec. 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 1. The chairman of the Taronga Zoo Park Trust, Mr E. J. Hallstrom, has withdrawn his offer of -£25 for the capture of a sea lion or sea leopard which is visiting Sydney Harbour and has offered a similar amount for “ a sea lion ” which university students led into Martin place on Friday. Four students were each fined £2 after they had led the “ sea lion ” an a fishing line up Martin place, claiming that they were taking it to Mr Hallstrom to secure the reward Mr Hallstrom stipulates that the “ sea lion,” which was a camouflaged student fitted with a mask and painted fins, must be taken to him at the zoo. Telegrams and letters have secured a reprieve for the real sea animal The authorities now believe that there are at least 12 sea .leopards in the harbour since “ a sea leopard can travel up to 75 miles an hour, but it cannot be in a dozen places at once.”
